I have been going to Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge quite a bit recently. You can see some pictures of Jamaica Bay and the YouTube video which use pictures from Jamaica Bay.
AND photographs of flowers shot at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx.
The images in the collage section are secured onto matte boards with a glue called Mod Podge and finished with an acrylic varnish. Many of these collages were exhibited at the Open Center in Soho, New York City in a one person show in January 2000 titled "The Spirit of Collage.".
Laura Meyers is very comfortable working in digital media. Some of Laura Meyers newer works are produced from digital photos of the "hand-made" collages recollaged in Photoshop CS3 and incorporating elements from original photographs. The final print is printed on Epson Inkjet 2400 using K3 archival inks and Epson Premium Glossy Inkjet Papers and framed in 8 x10 inch gold frames. Examples of this work are included in the Prints Section.
The Graphics Section presents larger Iris Prints printed.. These works were photographed at the Stuyvesant Cove Park in Lower Manhattan and manipulated in photoshop.
Laura Meyers picture of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird in Flight was selected as the photo of the month for Feburary 2008 at the New York City's Audubon Photo Sig. Please note that Laura Meyers uses the name Stillwel as her handle on this site.
Laura Meyers is currently employed full time at Pace Editions, Inc. in New York City where she is in charge of their website, www.paceprints.com among many other responsibilities.
Laura Meyers currently lives on the Lower East Side in Manhattan.
