The 18th Street Collage Collective
We come together about once a month and create our individual collages in a very relaxed group setting. We either bring the materials we have gathered over the month or sift through the assorted materials that we have accumulated as a group. I have been inviting friends to join me in creating collage for about six years.Collage is so conducive to a group setting. I am reminded of quilting bees.

Janet Fish selects a group of images from various magazines and works on a few pieces simultaneously altering the images to create very provocative unique statements. To see some examples of her work visit her website www.janetfishgraphicdesign.com
Alan Levy finds working from one magazine or perhaps two most rewarding. He works very spontaneously producing his prize pieces.
Miriam Fischer (left) has utilized the group to rekindle her passion for artmaking. Each month she brings in beautiful papers, fabrics and objects she has collected to create stunning collages that sparkle. Lorenz Fish (right) has us all in amazement as he juxtaposes increasingly unusual combinations of images forming outrageously witty collages. See more of his images on his website.
Sylvia has just joined us. She is trying out the various backing and gluing options to make her own. Different people join us from time to time and add their special energy to the group. For most of us, participating in this collective gives us an opportunity to continue our growth in a very supportive creative setting.
Marianne Wrobleski found some discarded wallpaper samples that she uses in her lovely decorative collage pieces along with photos and other ephemera she has collected.
